TIME OUT, WE NEED ACTION!

HE SAID AND WE NEED IT, CALL A GENERAL STRIKE.

The back slapping of the political elite has gone on for long enough. Two and a half years of the Coalition and its endless attacks on the welfare state has been allowed to flow like spew from CAMERON’S mouth after a good night at his private members club. Ed Milliband and his one nation Labour ( one class, Middle class) party have done nothing to stop the austerity measures. In fact he as stated that if Labour got into power tomorrow there would still be cuts and it would still be the poorest that had to face them.

Well enough is enough Ed. Time out, time for action. A general strike is the only way that we the people have of stopping this bunch of Eton toffs. The traitor Clegg and his Limp Dem suck up’s are not standing up to the Tories, they are self-serving, milking power for all they can get and then claiming to be on the side of the workers, the poor and the needy. The same gang that have yet again given ground on more welfare cuts ready for the butcher Osborne to put into his December meat list, the budget. We can’t take any more. Next year will see the goal posts moved on disability benefits. Five million disabled people will see their benefits cut or lost. The Eton boys are not cutting to clear the national dept, this is their ideology, this is them looking out for their class. Time for us to look after our, time for a General strike. No more middle class crap Ed. Socialist action from a socialist party is what we want. Back the call and stand your ground Ed. The British people have had enough of your weak leadership. Time to let those in power know what we think of them, their class and their cuts. GENERAL STRIKE, NOW! Winston.

We don’t get fooled again, Labour & Trident.

Angela Smith mp. At a time of cuts she wants Trident, remember this if you work in the public sector!

The TWEET TRIDENT CAMPAIGN is growing fast and a big thank you to all those who follow it on Twitter and here on the blog. Please spread the word and retweet the posts to as many as you can.  Ten more members of the commons got their “Where do you stand on Trident” tweets and yet again nine failed the test. The one person that did have a comment for us was Labour mp Angela Smith who represents Penistone & Stockbridge, Sheffield. She tweeted, “You’re going to be disappointed I think, I’m in favour of retaining Trident and replacing the dated submarine carriers”. Thank you for your views. I have sent Angela another tweet asking her why she supports Trident and hopefully she will return it with her views.

This is no great shock to me and most others within the peace movement. One nation Labour seem to be moving more to the right in most areas of politics and defence can be added to the list. It is a real shame that the party has moved away from its roots. The real shock to me is two-fold. First the number of Labour MP’s that sit on the fence with talk of “unilateral” disarmament, wake up and smell the coffee folks, the cold war is over and this is a cold war argument if ever there was one. The second shock has to be cuts. At a time when the public sector is slowly being dismantled by the coalition Labour MP’s support Trident or sit on the fence. The very same public sector that through trade union support backs most Labour MP’s. Talk about killing the goose, about double standards!
So if you work within the public sector and are facing job loss, pension cuts, longer working hours for a drop in pay you need to be asking why is it that the union you are a member of continues to support a party that has MP’s willing to back the £130 billion Trident replacement plan? This money for Trident would be far better spent maintaining our services than maintaining a weapon of mass destruction.
The other MP’s that failed the Trident tweet test are, Andy Gwynne Lab, Andy Percy Con, Andy Rosindell Con, Andy Selous Con, Andy Slaughter Lab, Andy Stephenson Con, Andy Burnham Lab (second tweet), Angela Eagle Lab, Angie Bray Con. If I do receive any tweets from these MP’s I will update the blog. Ten more MP’s will be sent tweets in the coming days and any findings will be published here. Thank you for all your support and please, please spread the word about the campaign and the blog. Peace to you all, Winston.

One of many, the true cost.

Do you have anything you want to say on the cuts?

I had been chatting away with a few peace pals for an hour or so. Twitter as you know is one of my main past times. The debate on the TWEET TRIDENT CAMPAIGN was in full swing and then up came a tweet from a lady, @cackiesmum.

Her daughter is sectioned under the mental health act and currently in a mental health unit. Thanks to the coalition’s new rules on Disability benefits this ladies daughter has to attend a medical run by ATOS. The private firm that is making millions out of these reforms.Due to being sectioned @cackiesmum could not take her child from the unit in order to attend this medical. Result? All disability benefits stopped. Her legal rights gone thanks to a government that has moved the goal posts on disability benefits. The very same coalition that claims we are all in this together. I bet David Cameron and his wife never had a problem obtaining their late sons benefits, not that they need it, nor do they need the £19.000 he claims every year as mortgage relief for being a MP. We are not and never have been in this together Dave! This case highlights just how for this government will go to destroy the welfare state. How they are so out of touch with you and I. This case is a shameful stain on our society. If we can attack the most needy and at the same time spend £350 million on Trident submarine development then some thing as gone very wrong in our world. If you use social media, twitter or Facebook then please highlight this case. Visit @cackiesmum on twitter and give her a follow, retweet her tweets and spread the word. This woman and her child are paying the true price for the cuts. Winston

The long game

Yesterday will go down as a golden opportunity for Ed Milliband and his new brand “One Nation Labour” to make a clear stand against the Coalitions Military spending at a time of cuts.

£350 million to be spent on phase two nuclear submarine development and all we hear for Labour is “The nations defence is important”. Not a single word on cost from the Labour leader or any other senior Labour figure. The same old middle of the road politics that is designed to keep the middle classes happy.

Time to get off the fence Ed! We heard the comments about “Hard decisions” that will have to be made if you get back into number ten. We know your riding high in the polls, 11 point lead according to today’s Independent. But it’s time for answers. What cuts will a new One Nation Labour government make? Please don’t give me the old line about not knowing what money you will have until you get into office. You could use the “We can’t change what the coalition has done” one but I don’t think I will buy it or millions of others.

You could do something shocking. You could return Labour to its socialist roots and say no to Trident. You could have said this yesterday. “We would invest “350 million into the NHS, welfare or education” could have rolled off your lips. Instead you did what all Labour leaders have done since 1997 and you said and did nothing. You held the centre ground, that ground of the squeezed middle. 75% of the UK population have already said they don’t want Trident, workers, middle class and even the upper classes. Even the lowest of society, the 4th class benefit scrounge’s, the ones whose benefits are being cut to pay for it don’t want it. Yet on we go and you Ed sit back and let it unfold before our eyes.

Labour need to make a stand. Not just on Trident but on the dismantling of the welfare state and NHS. The British people are growing tired of the back slapping and smiles that the three main parties seem to be permanently engaged in. They want to see some one make a stand and stop these ideological attacks on the real things that keep them safe and well, their health service, schools, jobs and welfare. Attack Trident Ed and put the money from it into rebuilding the post coalition nation we all want. Winston
